More scholarships for publications

Dr Urszula Rogalla, dr hab. Marcin Woźniak and prof. dr hab. Tomasz Grzybowski received scholarships for their high-impact publication: "Intra- and inter-population analysis of haplotype diversity in Yfiler Plus system using a wide set of representative data from Polish population" in Forensic Science International - Genetics.


University Day 2017

The Nicolaus Copernicus University will be celebrating its University Day on 19 February 2017 – the 554. birth anniversary of its patron, Nicolaus Copernicus (born 19 February 1473). As each year, a special ceremony will be held as a tribute to the man who “stopped the Sun and moved the Earth”.


Women in science

For centuries, women have made significant contributions to virtually all fields of science, including breakthrough discoveries, inventions and innovations. To recognise the past and promote future scientific achievements of women, the United Nations declared 11 February to be the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.


Scholarships for scholars

A new system of awarding academic teachers and researchers for high-impact publications was introduced at the Nicolaus Copernicus University at the beginning of this year. Rector’s scholarships were awarded to several scholars, including two academics from NCU Collegium Medicum: dr hab. Maria Kłopocka and dr hab. Sławomir Jeka, prof. UMK.


First liver transplant in the region

On 27 January 2017, a team of specialists led by dr hab. Maciej Słupski, head of the Department of Hepatobiliary and General Surgery of the A. Jurasz University Hospital No. 1 in Bydgoszcz, performed the first liver transplantation surgery in the region.


Paramedics for Africa

On 27 January 2017, two students of NCU Collegium Medicum, Kasia and Natalia, set out on a medical journey to Ghana to carry out their own charity project “Paramedics for Africa”. The enterprise is directly supported by NCU Collegium Medicum.


Work placement with Erasmus+

A briefing concerning going abroad for work placements within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme in the academic year 2016/2017 will be held on 24 January 2017 at 2.00 pm in the Medical Library building at 9 Curie-Skłodowska Street, room 8.
