We are looking for students who would like to help international students coming to NCU Collegium Medicum as part of the Erasmus+ program. Do you remember first weeks in foreign country, when everything seems to be fascinating, but strange, often difficult and you felt lonely?
Most of Erasmus students don’t know Polish and is for the first time in Poland. Sometimes it is their first long stay abroad. Even though they are awaiting this departure eagerly and with enthusiasm, beginnings can be difficult…
If you like to get to know new people, you are reliable, you know your city and have some free time – you are the one we look for!
Participation in the program, however, does not oblige you to round-the-clock care – the most important thing during the entire period of being a caregiver is to have constant contact with each other, so that „your” Erasmus can always count on you. And the time you will spend together is, above all, amazing experiences, a chance for new friendships, deepening your knowledge of a foreign language and really having fun!
The tasks of the „Study Buddy” include:
➢ contact with Erasmus (e-mail) before his/her arrival (there are certainly many questions that will be asked by an Erasmus student while preparing his/her arrival in Poland: from the type of climate, to the cost of food),
➢ if possible, picking up Erasmus from the airport/station or instructing him/her where to go upon arrival,
➢ help in accommodation in the student’s house,
➢ help in starting at the university -> showing how to use the library, where you can eat something, etc.
➢ joint outings, games, sightseeing, emergency help, etc.
