In connection with the planned return to teaching at the University in the winter semester of the academic year 2021/2022, general rules and guidelines for the organization of classes for students, doctoral students and other participants of the teaching process by organizational units of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń are established.
The detailed duties resulting from the sanitary regime in force at the University from the beginning of the academic year will be determined by the Rector’s decree issued on 27 September 2021, which will take into account the current epidemic situation and the common law in force in this regard.
Rules:
- Vaccination: recommended for all University employees, as well as all students and doctoral students.
- Disinfection: before and after classes surfaces should be washed with a detergent or disinfected.
- Distance: the minimum distance between people in common areas should be 1.5m.
- Hygiene: washing (or disinfecting) hands frequently, protection while sneezing and coughing. refraining from touching one’s eyes, nose and mouth.
- Mask: properly worn by all persons in common areas and by students, doctoral students, and other participants of the teaching process during class.
- Airing: before, after and during classes, as well as breaks, also during days free of classes.
Guidelines:
- The persons eligible for participation in classes at the University are students, doctoral students and other participants of the teaching process who do not demonstrate symptoms of infection or a contagious disease, and who have not been ordered to undergo quarantine of home isolation.
- Hand sanitizing notices and instructions for use of hand sanitizer must be posted at entrances to buildings where classes are held. Everyone must be allowed to use hand sanitizer and dispensers must be refilled regularly.
- The use of masks by students, doctoral students and other participants of the teaching process is required both in common areas of buildings and during classes. An academic teacher may conduct classes without a mask.
- Presence of persons from outside the University in its buildings should be limited to the bare minimum.
- Classes should be organized in such a manner as to allow distance between persons on University premises, especially in common areas, and to limit the gathering of students, doctoral students, and other participants of the teaching process.
- The teaching activities should be planned in such a manner as to enable students, doctoral students and other participants of the teaching system to take breaks at least every 45 minutes.
- In classrooms one should:
- keep a distance of at least 1.5 m between the teacher’s desk and the seats of students, doctoral students and other participants of the teaching process,
- disinfect the touched surfaces of the teacher’s desk before starting classes,
- whenever possible, limit the teacher’s movements among the seats of students, doctoral students and other participants of the teaching process.
8. General rules of hygiene are strictly enforced: frequent hand washing (wash hands after coming to University), protection while sneezing and coughing, and refraining from touching one’s eyes, nose and mouth.
9. Equipment and materials used during practical classes should be cleaned or disinfected.
10. Classrooms and common areas (corridors) should be aired at least once every hour, especially during breaks between classes.
11. Clinical classes and other classes held on hospital premises shall be conducted in compliance with safety and sanitary regime established by the head of hospital in consultation with the dean of the respective faculty.
