This is due to two public holidays celebrated in Poland:

zniczAll Saints’ Day – 1st November
As in many other countries, 1 November is celebrated solemnly as All Saints’ Day. It is a public holiday during which people visit cemeteries and gather round their family graves, laying flowers and lighting candles. On that day, Polish cemeteries are alight with thousands of candles.

flagaIndependence Day – 11th November
11 November, Poland’s National Independence Day, is a national holiday and commemorates the anniversary of regaining independence in 1918, after 123 years of partitions and rule by Russia, Prussia and Austria-Hungary. The holiday is celebrated throughout the country in the form of parades, gatherings and special masses.

Both days are public holidays, which means that government offices, schools, universities, banks and many private businesses are closed.
