SOLIDARITY WITH UKRAINE
24th January 2020

New year provides a great opportunity to implement environmentally friendly solutions on a larger scale. This is why new waste segregation rules have been introduced in Poland, valid as of 1 January 2020. The improved system contributes to reducing the production of plastic, the emission of toxic gases, as well as the size of landfill sites. This is done by separating recyclable materials from non-recyclable items.

Waste should now be segregated into five categories: paper, glass, metals & plastics, mixed waste and bio-waste. Make sure you follow this division and help us protect the environment!

Expired and unused medications can be disposed of in special bins in most pharmacies. Batteries, light bulbs, electronics and household appliances can be given away to local electronics stores.

The new rules pertain to both trash bins inside university buildings (including dormitories) as well as waste containers outside. Everyone is requested to follow the new rules.
