The beginning of the new academic year is fast approaching. The halls and lecture rooms of Collegium Medicum will soon be teeming with students. A group of 46 first year English-speaking students will be among them, commencing their 6-year Medical Program in English. The freshmen have arrived from such countries as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, UK, Italy, USA, Canada, India and Poland.
The beginning of the new academic year is fast approaching. The halls and lecture rooms of Collegium Medicum will soon be teeming with students, hopefully rested after the long summer break. A group of 46 first year English-speaking students will be among them, commencing their 6-year Medical Program in English. The freshmen have arrived from such countries as Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, UK, Italy, USA, Canada, India and Poland.
Our 6-year Medical Program in English was launched in 2009 with a group of future doctors from Scandinavia. Two years later, the Centre for Medical Education was established as a separate department for students of the MD Program in English and has been expanding ever since. The University has recently enriched its offer by three new programs in English – laboratory medicine, nursing and physiotherapy. The number of international students pursuing their full-degree studies at Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz now amounts to over two hundred. The expansion is facilitated by our fruitful cooperation with student recruitment partners: Agder Academy of Sciences and Letters, Think Poland and Medical Poland.
Thanks to our collaboration with the latter, prof. dr hab. Arkadiusz Jawień, Director of the Centre for Medical Education in English at Collegium Medicum, made his first visit to Dublin for recruitment purposes in August this year.
