The event will be held on 20-21 May 2017 and is open to physicians, health professionals and students, as well as their families and friends with FIDE rating no higher than 1900.

The tournament commemorates prof. dr hab. Roman Marian Bugalski, a renowned expert in the field of microbiology and a great enthusiast of chess. Prof. Bugalski was connected with Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz from its very beginnings, as a co-founder of the Department of Microbiology and the head of the Department of Microbiology and Nosocomial Infections at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the then Medical University in Bydgoszcz. He was a teacher of future doctors, dentists, nurses and midwifes. Microbiology and chess were his greatest passions.

Venue: School Complex No. 9 at 59 Cicha Street in Bydgoszcz

Rate of play: 60 minutes per player per game (max. 2 h per round)
