The prestigious distinctions are awarded annually for the most notable achievements in significant areas of public, social, professional and business activity.

Awards of the Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship were presented during an official ceremony held on 22 June 2016. The prestigious distinctions are awarded annually for the most notable achievements in significant areas of public, social, professional and business activity.

The awards were presented in thirteen categories. The list of laureates includes representatives of NCU Collegium Medicum:

Prof. dr hab. n. med. Tomasz Drewa, dr n. med. Marta Pokrywczyńska, lek. Maciej Nowacki, dr n. med. Tomasz Kloskowski, dr n. med. Arkadiusz Jundziłł, as a research team from the Division of Regenerative Medicine of the Department of urology at the Faculty of Medicine – for a series of scientific papers on “Regenerative medicine as treatment of the future”. The Division of Regenerative Medicine carries out research studies focusing on the design of innovative treatment methods using cell therapy and molecularly targeted therapy. The studies resulted in the publication of research papers in international and Polish journals of global reach. The papers were also presented at major international conferences and symposia.

Awards of the Marshal of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, 22 June 2016Prof. dr hab. n. med. Mariusz Dubiel – for managing the renowned Division of Maternal-Foetal Medicine, Gynaecology and Neonatology (Department of Midwifery at the Faculty of Health Sciences). Prof. Mariusz Dubiel is an acknowledged expert in the field of gynaecology and obstetrics and has contributed to resolving many complicated medical problems faced by pregnant women. He makes use of the latest treatment methods and promotes Polish medical achievements at home and abroad. His Division is thus one of the largest and most modern departments of this kind in Poland.

The Medici Homini Foundation – for recruiting dedicated volunteers willing to work in mission stations. The aim of the Foundation is to provide medical and humanitarian aid to inhabitants of the furthest corners of the world who suffer from poor access to health care services. The organisation also strives to promote the idea of humanitarian aid, the development of health care and prevention of addictions and social pathologies in developing countries, as well as to attract public attention to problems faced by third world countries. Medici Homini doctors and volunteers have already been on medical missions in such countries as Nepal, Guatemala, Gambia, Uganda and Chad.

An honorary award in the category of health protection was given to an NCU Collegium Medicum team composed of dr inż. Ewa Szymelfejnik, prof. Maciej Świątkowski, prof. Roman Cichon, Monika Ameryk, Agnieszka Augustyniak – for carrying out the Regional Program for the Prevention of Malnutrition, Overweight and Obesity Through Improved Nutrition for First to Third-Grade Children (aged 6-9) Attending Primary Schools in the Region.
