Celebrations of the Day for Organ Donation have been organised for many years on the initiative of the Council of Europe. They are held every year – in autumn, immediately after the meeting of the European Committee on Organ Transplantation, which operates within the Council of Europe. Each year, the European Committee on Organ Transplantation was held in a different country, and for the last two years, due to the pandemic, the celebrations have been organised online.
