Christmas events with IFMSA-Poland Join us for this year’s edition of the “Teddy bear under the hospital Christmas tree” campaign! All profits from two major events – Christmas cake fair (6 December 2017) and Christmas concert (8 December 2017) – will be used entirely for charity-based projects.

If you haven’t been infected by the Christmas spirit yet, it may change once you take part in special events organised by our students! As each year, the Bydgoszcz branch of IFMSA-Poland has created a wonderful opportunity for everyone to share some warmth and get involved in kind, selfless acts. Join us for this year’s edition of the “Teddy bear under the hospital Christmas tree” campaign!

The project entitled “Teddy bear under the hospital Christmas tree” was first launched in 2002 with the aim of collecting funds to buy modest gifts for children who are forced to spend this most joyful season in hospital, away from their families and friends. The campaign has been organised by IFMSA Bydgoszcz for several years now.

This year’s edition features two main events:

  • Christmas cake and pastry fair – 6 December (Wednesday),
  • Christmas concert with a raffle – 8 December (Friday).

All profits from the events will be used entirely for charity-based projects. More details below:

When: 6 December 2017 (Wednesday), 8.00 am – 4.00 pm

Where: NCU Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz:

  • Library Building, ul. Curie Skłodowskiej 9;
  • Cafe Filiżanka (Pathomorphology Building), ul. Curie Skłodowskiej 9;
  • Student House no. 3, al. Powstańców Wielkopolskich 46;
  • Building A , ul. Jagiellońska 13-15.

Event: you will be able to purchase cakes and delicacies made by students for an amount of your choice; more details on the Facebook event page >>

Donation goals: profits from the event will be used to buy clothes and hygiene products for four children from the most deprived families taken into care by the Charity Society of the St. Vincent de Paul Basilica in Bydgoszcz; part of the amount collected will be used to support the functioning of the Student Outpatient Clinic – Open Doors (run by our students), where homeless and uninsured patients can receive health care services.

The event is organised within the Standing Committee on Human Rights and Peace (SCORP).

Christmas Concert

When: 8 December 2017 (Friday), 6.30 pm – 8.45 pm

Where: Main Lecture Room, Student House no. 3, al. Powstańców Wielkopolskich 46, Bydgoszcz

Entry: free of charge

Artists: Collegium Medicum students – singers, guitar and keyboard players; Collegium Medicum Choir

Raffle with prizes: detailed information about prizes will be updated on the Facebook event page >>

Donation goals: all profits from the event will be used to buy presents for children spending this year’s Christmas in hospital

Finale: 21 December 2017 at the Department of Paediatrics, Haematology and Oncology, and the Department of Paediatrics, Allergology and Gastroenterology of the Antoni Jurasz University Hospital No. 1.

The event is organised within the project „Teddy bear under the hospital Christmas tree”.
