award for PTSF We are delighted to announce that the Polish Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (Polskie Towarzystwo Studentów Farmacji – PTSF), whose Bydgoszcz branch functions at NCU Collegium Medicum, has received the award for the best pharmaceutical organisation in the world. The distinction was awarded during the Congress of the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation in Taiwan.

During the 1st National Congress of the Polish Pharmaceutical Students’ Association held in Lublin between 6-9 October 2017, awards were officially handed over to individual branches of the organisation. The conference, held under the theme “The hospitalised patient. The role of a pharmacist in pharmacotherapy and hospital care”, was also attended by representatives of the Bydgoszcz branch of PTSF. Pharmacy students had the opportunity to participate in a series of interesting lectures and workshops, devoted to such issues as clinical trials, manipulation in advertising, or surgical suturing.

The conference also featured the National Contest for the Best Research Paper. Our university was represented by Jakub Gębalski, a fifth-year student of pharmacy, who presented his paper on “The influence of fluoroquinolones and ascorbic acid on biofilm formation by Proteus mirabilis strains”, prepared at the Department of Microbiology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, under the supervision of dr Joanna Kwiecińska-Piróg.
