The modernised and expanded suite comprises several rooms equipped with state-of-the-art medical devices and includes three modern treatment rooms, a diagnostic and consulting room, a patient education room and an admissions desk. The newly renovated clinic is aimed to serve the improvement of diagnostic and treatment procedures provided to chronic wound patients of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. The unit is headed by two Collegium Medicum academics – Professor Maria T. Szewczyk and Professor Arkadiusz Jawień.

The official opening of the new suite of the Outpatient Clinic for Chronic Wound Management Apart from standard wound management services, the outpatient clinic will also engage in a research project carried out within the Applied Research Programme financed by the National Centre for Research and Development. The project entitled “Assessment of the efficacy of tropocollagen using new medical technologies in patients with venous ulcer of the lower leg”, run jointly by the Department of Vascular Surgery and Angiology and the Division of Surgical Nursing and Chronic Wound Treatment, aims to provide chronic wound patients with highly specialised and comprehensive medical care with a view to improving the local and systemic conditions for wound healing.

For many years already, the Outpatient Clinic for Chronic Wound Management has served as a unique centre for medical treatment, scientific research and academic teaching. It has offered interdisciplinary medical services to wound patients provided by highly qualified and experienced specialists.
