In connection with the upcoming new academic year 2020/2021 and the current situation related to the spreading of SARS-CoV-2, we would like to inform you that the Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus University, wishing to ensure the security of the academic community, has made the decision that didactic classes at the higher education studies, postgraduate and doctoral studies, in doctoral schools and other forms of education at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in the winter semester of the 2020/2021 academic year will, as a rule, take place remotely.
Classes other than lectures, which, due to their specificity, cannot be held remotely, may take place in the winter semester of the academic year 2020/2021 in traditional form in the buildings of the University in compliance with the safety rules and sanitary regime. Information about classes that will take place in traditional form in the buildings of the Nicolaus Copernicus University will be posted by September 15, 2020 on the Faculties’ websites, and in the case of doctoral schools, on the websites of doctoral schools. Final schedules of studies will be published by September 21. Classes planned to be implemented in traditional form will take place on days other than remote classes.
Student houses will be open and accessible to students. University buildings will be available for students and employees of the Nicolaus Copernicus University. We would also like to inform you that the opening ceremony for the academic year 2020/2021 will be planned in compliance with the sanitary regime, it is also possible to organize information meetings for first-year students in compliance with the safety and sanitary regime. However, there will be no traditional graduation ceremony.
