We are pleased to inform you that our university’s clinics functioning in the Antoni Jurasz University Hospital No. 1 and the Oncology Centre in Bydgoszcz secured top positions in the 2017 Hospital Ranking initiated by the WPROST magazine.
The Division of Oncological Surgery at the Department of Oncological Surgery of the Faculty of Health Sciences was ranked 1st in the country in the category of gastrointestinal cancer surgery. The unit is headed by prof. dr hab. Wojciech Zegarski.
Several units of the University Hospital No. 1 in Bydgoszcz took top positions in four categories: the Urology Clinic – 2nd place in the category of urology, the Clinic of Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Trauma Surgery – 4th place in the category of orthopaedics, the Cardiology Clinic – 6th place in the category of cardiology, the Cardiac Surgery Clinic – 10th place in the category of cardiac surgery.
The 2017 Hospital Ranking was developed by the Medical Ranking Consulting Centre of the Termedia Publishing House. Over two thousand questionnaires filled by the evaluated hospitals were analysed by teams of experts in different areas (including employees of the National Health Fund, professors of medicine, regional and national consultants). Hospital departments were assessed using specially created scales and algorithms containing such parameters as the scope of diagnostic procedures offered, the number of treatment procedures performed, the rates of hospital-acquired infections, or the number of monitored hospital beds, operating rooms or medical specialists in a given ward.
