Dr n. med. Maciej Nowacki, assistant lecturer at the Department of Oncological Surgery at the Faculty of Health Sciences of NCU Collegium Medicum, received a major award from the President of Bydgoszcz – scholarship for brilliant young scientists.
Dr Maciej Nowacki is engaged in research into peritoneal carcinomatosis and its treatment using new and innovative methods, working under the scientific supervision of prof. dr hab. Wojciech Zegarski, head of the Department of Oncological Surgery. Dr Nowacki participates in a European-wide project involving a multicentre evaluation of results of treatment using minimally invasive techniques. He is currently the only young scientists representing a Polish clinical research centre as a visiting scholar/resident in the peritoneal surgery team of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO). Dr Nowacki is an author of numerous publications devoted to oncological and experimental surgery, and a co-organiser of thematic conferences.
