Paul Gurbel on 18th February 2016 at 1.00 p.m. in room 35 of the Pharmacy building at 2 Jurasza Street in Bydgoszcz.

Professor Paul Gurbel from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA, is a distinguished scientist specialising in issues related to blood coagulability and an unquestioned world authority in the field of cardiology. His ground-breaking research on the mechanisms of resistance to standard treatment regimens has had a significant impact on the development of new treatment strategies for patients with myocardial infarction and patients subjected to surgical procedures towards restoring the patency of coronary arteries.

On 26th January 2016, the Senate of the Nicolaus Copernicus University supported the motion proposed by the Council of the Faculty of Medicine to award the honoris causa degree to prof. Paul Gurbel. The honoris causa diploma will be conferred on 19th February 2016 during the University Day celebrations in Toruń.
