May Break

By the decision of the University’s authorities, 2 May 2017 (Tuesday) is free from classes. The University will be closed on that day. This year’s May Break will last from 29 April (Saturday) until 3 May (Wednesday). The break is due to the two important public holidays celebrated in Poland in that period: the Labour Day (1 May) and the Constitution Day (3 May).


Rector’s hours

By the decision of the Rector, on 6 May 2016 there will be no classes between 8.00 a.m. – 5.20 p.m. for students of the 3rd-6th year of the MD Program in English. This is due to the live on-line transmission of the 2nd McMaster International Review Course in Internal Medicine (MIRCIM 2016) which will be held on 6-7 May 2016 in the Medical Library building.More information about MIRCIM can be found here >>

Photography competition – 4th edition

The Student Research Club for Pharmaceutical Botany at the Department of Biology and Pharmaceutical Botany is delighted to invite the students and staff members of the Nicolaus Copernicus University Collegium Medicum to take part in the 4th edition of the photography competition entitled ‘The Amazing World of Medicinal Plants’.


Uncommon Surgery in University Hospital

A noteworthy double surgery was carried out in the Jan Biziel University Hospital No. 2 in Bydgoszcz. In order to save the life of a pregnant patient diagnosed with a ruptured brain aneurysm and her unborn child, two teams of specialists decided to perform two surgical procedures simultaneously – caesarean section and brain aneurysm clipping. The surgery ended with a double success!


Wanted: Blood Donors

Join us for another edition of the “Wampiriada” blood donation event, which will be held on 26 April 2016 in Collegium Medicum in Bydgoszcz. Blood banks are in a constant need for this life-giving fluid. We believe that the academic community of our medical university will be there to respond to the problem once again.


Elections to the Council of the Student Government

Elections to the Councils of the Student Government at the Faculties of Pharmacy, Medicine and Health Sciences have been postponed and will be held on 5 May 2016. The candidates’ application deadline has been moved to 28 April 2016.
